tl;dr - Yay Avengers!
Note to self: read only squeeing reactions to ‘The Avengers’ and leave the faux ‘serious’ reviews alone. You will simply get into internet fights and we all know how that goes…
(Ok, I just have to say one thing: if you wrote a female superhero, what would/could you have her do? If a male villain does anything to her, it’s sexist. If a female villain does, it’s porn/catering to fanboys. I’m not denying there is rampant sexism and misogyny when it comes to female characters (and in real life too), we all know there is. But if you have a protaganist, bad shit will happen to them, or there is no story. If your protagonist is female, sometimes the antagonist doing the bad shit will be male. Does that automatically make it sexist? According to the internet, yes.
And now everyone is going to assume I’m ignorant and sexist. Sigh. But I’m seriously asking, from a wannabe writer standpoint: how do you allow bad things to happen to a female character, that can’t be interpreted as sexist? What if the antagonist is supposed to be a misogynistic ass? Am I sexist just for creating an asshole character? That’s not even a sarcastic question, I’m legit curious. When do you cross the line between ‘I’m creating this character who is a bad person’ and ‘I’m a bad person for writing a character this reprehensible…’)

Watching Castle just made me retroactively pissed at last season’s Bones finale. THAT was how it should have been done, Hart Hanson.
Also, I love how Castle spends most of the season doing fluffy, one-shot episodes and then just kills it in the last few eps.
Maybe it’s because it’s Monday and my brain has quit, but I laughed at this for a good minute. And then I saw the correction to the sign and started laughing again.

So can we talk about how Sabrina is getting an “edgy” reboot which recasts her as a magical superhero? And how Salem’s a “transformed prince” who also serves as Sabrina’s love interest? And how this seems like it could be even worse than Michael Bay’s “The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are neither mutants nor teenagers” movie?
